Ward 7 Food Project

When Seshat said she had tried to collect survey data in the past and I told her that I was actively working on a survey to gather broader sentiments about food access in Ward 7, the Ward 7 Food Project was born. Aimed at understanding the connections between food access, perceptions of community, race, and class, this collaborative project combines my skills as a social scientist with Seshat’s design skills to develop creative ways to disseminate information to Ward 7 residents. One hope among many is that the data generated from this project will support residents’ anecdotal evidence that often goes unheard and that the data, which can be made publicly available to individuals and organizations, is useful for working toward community change.
